The Cajun Kitchen, a spicy display of louisiana's style of cooking brings you back to a time of jazz music and warm atmosphere, minus the beads, drunkin' fools and nudity of course.
The Cajun Kitchen has everything from a large selection of breakfast and lunch, including a ton of New Orleans favorites like gumbo, craw fish and jambalya.
They have a few locations all over Santa barbara, the one that is most convienent for me and most kids living in Isla Vista is the Goleta restaurant, located right on Hollister road.
I went in with my roommate the other day to try it out, and wow was I surprised.
I was definitely feeling breakfast that early afternoon, and the selection left me mind bobbled.
The best part about their breakfast selections is that they come with home fries and home made hashbrowns to choose from, or you can get both and split it! SO GOOD. Also, they offer muffins to go with the breakfast and I got their bran, not the usual bran. Not at all. Its like eating a honey, buttery, short bread muffin (they give you two!)
I got the Franch Quarter special, which was an omelet with Louisiana’s famous spicy suasage, mushrooms, jack cheese and avocado, all for $8.75 (and I took half home along with one of the muffins!)
There was so much flavor and the Louisiana sausage made the omelete for me. The spiciness and the flavor packed into those little slices of sausage were fantastic.
I have yet to try any lunch entrees but my next stop to the Cajun Kitchen will definitely be geared toward that side of the menu.
Everything on this menu of course is extremely reasonably priced for their large sizes and delicious New Orlean style cuisines!
Here is the menu to look at!
The French Quarter Special....ooo baby
